Woobie Chrome Extension — Privacy Notice
Last updated: June 10, 2026
This notice describes what data the Woobie Chrome extension collects, how we use it, and your choices. It applies only to the extension; for our broader platform, see our main privacy policy.
Who we are
The Woobie Chrome extension is published by Woobie USA Corp (Fresno, California). Contact: support@woobie.io.
What data we collect
The extension collects only what's necessary to help you navigate your VA disability claim. Specifically:
- Personally identifiable information — your email address and a Cognito-issued user identifier. Used to sign you in and associate your data with your Woobie account.
- Authentication information — Cognito ID, access, and refresh tokens, stored locally in your browser so you stay signed in across sessions.
- Health information — when you're signed in, the extension reads your VA disability claim status from VA.gov (phase, sub-phase, document tracker items, the conditions you've claimed) and optionally syncs it to your Woobie account.
- Personal communications — questions you type into the Ask Myra assistant inside the extension, and the responses we return.
- Website content — structured claim data extracted from VA.gov pages and api.va.gov so the extension can display a plain-language summary.
The extension does not collect: payment information, your physical location, your web browsing history outside VA.gov, mouse/click/keystroke activity, or any data from tabs other than VA.gov.
How we use it
We use this data only to deliver the extension's single purpose: helping you navigate your VA disability claim. Specifically:
- Render your claim status in plain language on VA.gov
- Sync your claim history to your Woobie dashboard at app.woobie.io (only while signed in)
- Power the Ask Myra assistant with the context it needs to answer your question
- Authenticate API calls so only you can access your data
We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending, do not use it for advertising, and do not train AI models on your conversations.
Where it's stored
- Locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local — authentication tokens and a short-lived cache of the most recently viewed claim ID.
- In our AWS account (us-west-2), encrypted at rest, owned and operated by Woobie USA Corp:
- Claim snapshots — time-limited to 12 months, then automatically deleted
- Distilled claim milestones — kept as part of your dashboard history until you delete your account
- Ask Myra conversation history — deletable from your Woobie account at any time
All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS.
Who we share it with
No one outside of Woobie, except where strictly necessary to deliver the service:
- Amazon Web Services — our cloud infrastructure provider, bound by their standard data processing agreement.
- Amazon Bedrock (Anthropic Claude models) — Ask Myra responses are generated using Anthropic's Claude models, accessed exclusively through Amazon Bedrock. Under AWS Bedrock's standard terms, the prompts and responses are not retained by AWS or by Anthropic, and are not used to train any foundation models. Our internal knowledge base (used to give Myra context) lives in our AWS database and is never shared with Anthropic.
We do not sell or transfer your data to any third party for marketing, advertising, or analytics.
Your rights
You can:
- Sign out of the extension at any time (clears all locally-stored tokens immediately).
- Delete your Woobie account at app.woobie.io → Settings → Delete account. This purges all claim snapshots, milestones, and Ask Myra conversations within 30 days.
- Email support@woobie.io to request export or deletion of any specific data.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the extension evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in the Woobie app.
